{mosimage}1. If you love Surya & Jyothika as a pair and want to see them getting married, making love and having a naughty kid, then proceed to nearest theatre screening SOK. (I deliberately chose to see on 11th Sep 2006, the marriage day of Surya & Jyothika) Really warm scenes of their family.
2. The sensational hit "Munbe vaa.." that is rocking Tamilnadu right now. It was beautifully shot on Surya & Bhumika Chawla in beautiful locales of Switzerland & Coimbatore.
3. Coimbatore - yes, I could identify with the locations and relate with my personal memories on the Gandhipuram Bus Stand, Crosscut road, Lolly Road, Saradambal Koil, Agricultural College, 7 No. townbus, Ukkadam over bridge etc.
4. Short but cute Bhumika, with a killing smile & showing her "mickey mouse" teeth. She looked so lovely & convincingly as a Coimbatore Naidu girl, simple first year college girl in plain churidars. I didn't like her in the later glamorous avatar.
{mosimage}5. The lines in climax that made me cry. Ishu (Bhumika) writes to Kundhavi (Jyothika)- "When we love something / someone we tend to get protective fearing that it/they might be misused. But when we see the same still more safe in somebody else's hands, more than anything we feel relieved. That's what I felt with Gautam (Surya) in your hands and hereafter I can live in peace". "Ennai Kalangadiccha varigal." Hats off to the writer!
6. "Adhakalam pannum" AR Rahman's music. Only if seen in theatre we could understand the impact.
{mosimage}7. New editing technique in "New York Nagaram" song. the frames move horizontal instead of conventional vertical movement and each frame lasting less than a second. Even though it strains eyes, it was different. Also the concept of expressing loneliness with Surya & Jyothika in ghost figures is novel.
8. Even though it had a macho action hero, it is a girl's movie... something girlish movie. Story unfolds and moves in Jyothika's perspective. She is the soul of the movie as "Kundhavi".
9. "Meesai vaccha" Surya. I like him with a moustache, not in a clean shaven look. Surya looked manly with full musch.
10. The whole look of the movie is simply stylish & slickly shot. Rd. Rajasekar's camera work was soothing including his trademark "Matrix" style.
11. No cinematic villians to insert a fight in the climax. Surya also sheds so much of tears without bothering about his macho hero image.
12. A case of perfect casting - even the supporting cast of kid Jyothika & Jr. Jyothika as well as Jyothika's friends is well chosen. Bold move on Asin's part to refuse the role played by Bhumika. But.. why Sukhanya?
