{mosimage}Sometimes back in our office, this was a topic for discussion. The wide spread conclusion that came as the meaning for this phrase was - to be idle and leave everything to fate. I tend to disagree this interpretation. My take on this statement is that you should accept the way things happen rather than expecting it to have happened otherwise. This is the context what I took this statement and following it eversince I read it somewhere for the first time.

In the novel "Irumbu Kudhiraigal" there is an interesting discussion about this topic. The students ask Naanu sir the way to enjoy life. He says "Do nothing." Then the students ask if you do nothing without putting any efforts, how can you enjoy and have a meaning for the existence of life. Naanu Sir explains "This is not what I meant. When there is a storm, learn to live with it, so do when there is a breeze. Don't think that life is all something a struggle with storm or dream life is what without storm / with breeze only. The very thought about storm while the breeze is on and vice versa complicates the life. Learn to enjoy whatever happens. If calm and cool breeze exists, storm too will exist. You should learn to enjoy the breeze as well as storm." He implies that happiness and hardships are very much the part of life and you can't escape them. So rather than cribbing and crying, learn to accept it.

But before reading this novel I read an interview of Abhishek Bacchan few years ago when he started with a bang but his career didn't take off. On being asked about the turbulent phase of his career, he said "If a rape is inevitable, lie back and enjoy it." Believe me..... That phrase made a terrible impact on me that I enjoy even the toughest moment and didn't let if affect my personality or morale. All I used to think is "This phase too will pass by, so let me enjoy it rather than complaining why this happens to me alone. So why should I let this affect in enjoying my life?"

I don't think there are no other glamorous examples like actors Vikram and Abhishek Bacchan who took life as it came without affecting their confidence. Vikram took almost 12 years to make it big while Abhishek had this tremendous pressure of constantly being under public's eye.
