Being in a cultural melting pot like Dubai has its advantages - you can be able to meet people from various cultures and appreciate their unique quality. If there is any race in the world who teaches that there is more to life than money, it will surely be the Filippinos. In Dubai, almost all the shops employ Filippinos for the front end & in the cash counters as they are ever smiling and a pleasing appearance. These positions are not highly paid, but that doesn't stop these people from being cheerful and charming. 'Good Morning shaar... ekshkyoos me shaar.... thaank you shaar'... Something fills us with a peace when we hear to these filippinos on the stores. On the Fridays when we come across those people in the streets, the way they enjoy the life cheerfully by laughing, going around merrily... just puts us in shame that we are not capable of enjoying life like them despite being that they are low paid. I am trying to take them as inspiration to live my life happily.. unconditionally.

Coming next is the Pathans. Going by the news & terrorism, we are loaded with preconceived notions that all the Pakistanis are cunning, avid haters of India but a common Pakistani is very naive, beguile and hardworking. Like the Filippinos being relegated to the front office / cashier jobs, the driver & physically demanding jobs are handled by the Pathans. The best part of the Pathans is that they deliver what they promised without fail. Sometimes despite being overpromised, they deliver whatever they promised no matter what comes in their way. I can surely say that Pakistani's are very simple and naive, that they are being easily mislead by the corrupt politicians.

Streaks of possesiveness - Many a times we know that whats right and what is wrong, but we end up doing the wrong things even though we are aware that we are erring. Now I am in such a situation despite knowing that I am treading on a wrong path. I had been (& seen) in the both the sides of viscious possesiveness, but still that streaks of immaturity and possesiveness is active in me that I often get possesive about one of my new found acquintance. I cannot call him a friend, but I do feel that jealousy and mild heart burns when something he does which was not extended to me. Thankfully my head is active at that time keeping the heart in the check, but not much is done towards curbing the possesiveness because this is going to be a short term friendship, so let the heart enjoy its eccentricity. After all little drama makes the life intresting...

Problems of staying with colleagues - Oflate I am more empathising with the kids staying in the hostels... Whenever the kids go back to hostel after days spent at home, they will be feeling that lump in the throat despit knowing that their stay in the hostel is for a purpose. I am neither too young to be left in a hostel, but for this project I have no choice than staying with my colleagues in the company accomodation. The set of colleagues I am with are nice people, but still I feel that uncomfortness just because there is a fatigue factor. You keep seeing the same faces in the office and even spend up staying with the same during your personal life also. The conversations keep revloving around the work, which often makes you feel that your personal life is engulfed by the professional life. As a policy I never stay with the colleagues because it affects the personal as well as professional ambience, but when I have to I have no other choice (read as unaware of other choices) than keeping myself aloof from the colleagues at home. I am certainly not a snob as I am now, but I really don't know other choices. Anyway... no regrets for what I am...
